Description

A French Art Nouveau epergne from the 19th century, with silver plate base and crystal vase. Born in France during the second half of the 19th century, this exquisite centrepiece features a Rococo inspired silver candlestick, resting on a tripartite base with beaded accents. All in curves, the lower section leads the eye to the delicate crystal vase, etched with foliage details. Particularly praised from the mid-19th century period, epergnes were quintessential 19th Centur centrepiece items, used to either display fruits, desserts or flowers. With its graceful lines and contrasting colours, this Art Nouveau silver plate and crystal epergne will bring a touch of tradition to any home décor.
